SafeBite started with a simple question: What’s really happening behind the scenes at the restaurants in our community?

We were curious about the places where we eat, the health inspections they receive, and what those inspection reports actually tell us about food safety. The more we looked, the more we realized that this information was valuable—but often difficult to find, understand, and put into context.

Then our friends started asking the same questions.

Friends in other communities wanted to know about the restaurants where they lived. That got us looking beyond our own neighborhood and exploring restaurant health inspections in communities throughout the region.

And then we thought about the places we visit several times a year.

Whether it's a weekend getaway, a family visit, a favorite vacation destination, or simply a town we enjoy exploring, we wanted to know the same thing there: How are the restaurants doing?

That's how SafeBite grew—from looking up restaurant inspection information for our own social circle to sharing that information with everyone in the communities we serve.

What began as curiosity about our own community became a mission to make restaurant health inspection information easier for everyone to find, understand, and discuss—wherever they live, work, dine, or travel.

SafeBite isn't about telling you where to eat. It's about giving you information so you can make your own decisions.

We believe informed diners are better diners, and that transparency can help create stronger communities and higher standards for everyone.
